Dramamine – Modest Mouse
Dramamine is one of the best Modest Mouse songs ever made. It is off their 1996 debut album “This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About”. The whole album is really good, but Dramamine is the best, hands down. It hooks you with the instrumental intro and then moves on into the trippy lyrics. It kind of seems like it’s about a long car trip while taking a bit too much Dramamine (the motion sickness drug). Throw in a few unhealthy relationship analogies and there you have it.
Traveling, swallowing Dramamine
Feeling spaced, breathing out Listerine
I’d said what I’d said that I’d tell you
And that you’d killed the better part of me
The video here, believe it or not, is fan made. I think they did a damn fine job on it too. It definitely has that sixties educational cartoon style going for it. You kind of get lost watching it. Hope you like it!
Ya know, I don’t believe I ever even actually went and listened to any Modest Mouse album all the way through.
This song does have a pretty catchy guitar riff to it, and it certainly does make me wanna go and listen to their first album to see what it’s all about.
