Trashman’s Shoes – Shoulders
Stop everything else you’ve got going on right now. I guarantee you haven’t heard this before and it is sure to blow your socks off. Very cool song by a local Austin band Shoulders. Wikipedia describes their music best as “drunken carnival music”. How can you go wrong with drunken carnival music?
Trashman’s Shoes is off Shoulder’s first album by the same name. It actually hit #2 on the rock charts in France. Trashman’s Shoes has everything you might want in a song. It’s catchy, it has a powerful narrative, it involves murder. Very cool. Oh, and he goes a little crazy at the end. I love freak out endings. Enjoy.
Hmmmm, this is…definitely interesting. I think I’d need to hear the rest of their album before I make a final decision on them, but, “drunken carnival music” is about right.
Wow, not a ringing endorsement. Maybe my musical sensors are off. Oh well, I agree about wanting to hear the rest of the album, but it’s surprisingly hard to find. Have to get it used off Amazon or maybe find it somewhere local. I’ll give you an update when I hear it.
Yeah, I won’t lie, I’m not sold on them just yet. But, I’m willing to give their album a listen should you find it. I just listened to the 30 second previews of all of the songs from Amazon, and…the jury’s still out.
On another note, one thing it’d be nice for you/I/we/us to get added to MB and WBYR is the ability to check a little box that says “notify me when someone replies” to this post. Maybe that’s silly, dunno.
Testing out a plugin for that right now. We’ll see how it works here, then might use it for WBYR.
