Cake, Ahhhhh Cake. God I love Cake. No, I don’t mean the sweet birthday treat. I’m talking about the band. I fell in love with Cake in Junior High School. “The Distance” was playing on every alternative station and I was listening. I went out and bought Fashion Nugget and never looked back. I’m not doing a post on “The Distance”. Nope, It’s been done to death. I love it, don’t get me wrong, but every alternative station is still playing it. No, I loved the entire album. I then saved up and bought the previous album and then every album that came out after that. I am a Cake maniac.

The song I’m going with here is “The Guitar Man”. It is really cool, with the catchy lyrics and synthesized electronic grooves. Ok, I admit, I didn’t know it was a Bread cover song. Not until I was looking it up on YouTube. But I did watch a few live performances of “The Guitar Man” by Bread and liked them very much. I would have to say that the cover is pretty true to the original. I guess now, I need to go back and see what else Bread has done. I’ll get back to you on that.
