Music Blur

I, like most people, learned of Modest Mouse when “Float On” started playing everywhere.  A great song, to be sure.  I was mocked by several of my friends for not knowing about Modest Mouse prior to this.  They said, “Oh, you are one of those new fans” or “Where were you when Modest Mouse needed you the most?”  Well, I don’t really have an answer for that.  I wish I was there, but what could I do, I’m there now.

Good News for People Who Love Bad News is a fantastic album.  There is literally not a bad song on the album.  The song in question, The Devil’s Workday, works for me on so many levels.  I love the lyrics and the brass, provided by the Dirty Dozen Brass Band.  The song just builds and builds, and the horns just get more and more excited.  I love it!  Great song.
